Welcome to the official website of Zack Fisch, the “Voice of the Hershey Bears” and fill-in broadcaster for the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
Fisch has experience calling games in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, USHL, and NCAA. He joined the Bears, the American Hockey League’s most historic club in 2016 and calls the action for the club on a five-station radio network and on local television. He also serves as the club’s Manager of Media Relations and Broadcasting. He was the 2021 winner of the AHL’s prestigious Ken McKenzie Award as the AHL’s best executive for his broadcast and PR efforts.
In 2023, Fisch called Hershey’s league-record 12th Calder Cup Championship, serving as the play-by-play voice on FOX43, NBC Sports Washington, MSG Networks, and NHL Network telecasts. He was part of the FOX43 broadcast team that won the AHL’s 2023 James H. Ellery Award for outstanding media coverage.
Fisch works with Hershey’s NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals, on a fill-in basis. He made is NHL debut on the Capitals Radio Network in 2018 and filled-in for seven broadcasts during the 2020-21 season, calling historic moments such as Alex Ovechkin’s 708th and 709th goals, Zdeno Chara’s first goal versus the Boston Bruins since departing the club, and Nicklas Backstrom’s 1000th game. Zack’s calls of these moments were featured on NBC and NBCSN broadcasts. He continued his work with the Capitals over the past two seasons, filling in for 10 regular season games in 2022 and 2023, plus he made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in 2022 in Washington’s Game 6 loss to the Florida Panthers.
